The 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Geodesy and Photogrammetry Department of Yıldız Technical University was celebrated in the new campus of the university in Davutpaşa Barracks on 9 October 2009. The celebrations were started with the opening speech of the Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Ömer AYDIN and participated by the Dean of the Engineering Faculty, retired and staff lecturers, Chamber of Mapping and Cadastre Engineers, various entities and institutions, representatives of the private sector and students.

 

The founders of the department, namely Prof. Dr. Macit ERBUDAK, Prof. Dr. Ekrem ULSOY and Prof. Dr. Burhan Tansuğ were commemorated with respect. Deceased Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şerbetçi, who was a lecturer of the department, was also commemorated. Touching speeches made by the families and students of such deceased people took the participants to the old times.

One of the speakers of the panel discussion with the topic of Geodesy and Photogrammetry Training as a speaker was our General Manager Mr. Ömür Demirkol.
